Pre-season preparations continue at Tyco Suzuki

The TAS Racing team continue their pre-season preparations at their Moneymore based workshop in Northern Ireland ahead of their assault on the 2012 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship with Josh Brookes and Alastair Seeley.

The Supersport and Superstock championship-winning team confirmed their rider line up at the Motorcycle Live Show and their new title sponsor Tyco Security Products and the team's base continues to be a hive of activity. The new 2012 GSX-R1000 Suzuki may look similar to last year's bike but a number of changes have left the TAS Racing crew more than confident, that the evolutionary process with the big 'gixer' will give them a competitive advantage this season.

Prior to the New Year the team had also built and liveried the first of their Tyco Suzuki GSX-R600 machines, to be used by Seeley at the North West 200 in May. The bike is now in the process of being shipped to Dubai for a trade fair as part of title sponsor Tyco Security Products' promotional material at the UAE event.

Tyco Suzuki Team Manager Philip Neill explains:

"Like everyone we have been juggling new sponsorship commitments with development necessities and when you hit January, the whole thing seems to move forward at a great rate of knots. It's wonderful how long it actually takes to find a colour scheme and layout that suits everyone, and that's very important when you are promoting multiple brands.

"Behind the scenes the guys in the workshop have been making progress with engine development and more importantly for 2012, they already have the electronic package up and working to a more than satisfactory level. In the coming days our first bike will be ready and shipped to Leo Vince in Italy to undergo extensive exhaust pipe development to ensure that everything works to his maximum potential."
