Trayler Continues Excellent Progress At Knockhill

The MotoDex Performance First Suzuki Team were back in action at the weekend for the seventh round of the Metzeler National Superstock 1000cc Championship with Jesse Trayler scoring a solid 18th place finish at the Knockhill circuit.

The Dunmow, Essex rider, having just his second outing of the year aboard the Suzuki GSX-R1000, qualified in 26th place in Friday's dry session but with rain falling on Saturday, none of the riders were able to improve their times. Subsequently, Jesse lined up on the tenth row of the grid and although overtaking around the 1.27-mile circuit was always going to be difficult, Trayler made good progress throughout the 24-lap race.

Maintaining his 26th place at the end of the first lap, Trayler was able to gradually move forward and by half race distance, he was already up inside the top twenty. Continuing his progress, Jesse moved up to 18th place on the penultimate lap and that was where he finished for his second successive top 20 result.

Jesse Trayler:

"What a mega weekend! We went faster in every dry session and I was pleased we got some wet weather experience on the bike at last. I gave myself a lot of work to do after qualifying and was catching the bunch of riders in front half way through the race when I had a big slide and came close to a massive highside and was lucky to stay on! It was a real shame as I know I could have been well into the points. Massive thanks to the team and also our sponsors MotoDex Performance First, Hel Performance, PMV Exports, Yod Siam Restaurant, Great Cente, bestlog, Linxcel, Rock Oil, GasMoto and GBRacing."

Tony Dexter, Team Owner:

"It's hard to describe how absolutely delighted I am with Jesse and the team. We left Snetterton, our first time at racing speed, being only 1.6 seconds off the pace and we left Knockhill only one second off the pace! Jesse got quicker in every session and is really coming to grips with the MotoDex Performance First Suzuki. Jesse's feedback is phenomenal and allows us to tweak the bike in the right direction every time out so for each and every session he is faster and we are gathering valuable data for the forthcoming rounds which will suit the 1000s a lot better. To be only 0.2 of a second off his fully-fledged Supersport bike time from last year is a brilliant achievement and I am extremely proud of him. Our main goal now is to sort out qualifying to give him less work to do in the actual race as the Superstock 1000 qualifying times are brutal with only 1.4 seconds covering the top 30! If we can sort this out for him then and let him start just a row or two up the grid then we will be opening our points account very much sooner than expected."
