Turn 3 at Phillip Island will be named after Repsol Honda Team’s Australian rider Casey Stoner.

A ceremony is to be held on Thursday at 11:45am local time to name the corner in honour of the 2007 and 2011 World Champion. Stoner joins Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner, Australia's other two premier class World Champions, in have a part of the iconic Australian circuit named after him. The Australian will ride at Phillip Island for the last time ever on a MotoGP™ bike this weekend, with Stoner retiring at the end of the year. The current World Champion has won at the track for the last five years running, and often refers to it as one of his favourite corners in the World.
