Ryuichi Kiyonari topped the times for the first time this weekend at Brands Hatch as the Buildbase BMW rider fired ahead of Jakub Smrz in the final two minutes of a frantic warm up session on the Grand Prix circuit.

The session began with Quattro Plant Kawasaki's Dan Linfoot setting the initial pace before front-row starter James Ellison moved ahead on the Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Kawasaki. The times at the top continued to shuffle with John Hopkins, Chris Walker and Kiyonari all pushing inside the top five.

Ellison held the position at the top until the final four minutes when Smrz and the Ducati upped the pace to hit the top, however as the pair continued to swap positions, Kiyonari fired ahead as the riders now prepare for the opening race of the day.

Pole-sitter Shane 'Shakey' Byrne was fourth fastest, waiting until the closing stages to move inside the top five on the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki to push Chris Walker to fifth. Tommy Bridewell was sixth fastest on the leading Milwaukee Yamaha with Linfoot in seventh.

John Hopkins dropped to eighth in the closing stages with Josh Brookes and Jon Kirkham completing the top ten.
