The Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club has today announced that the 2015 Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week will take place at Dundrod between the 3rd and 8th of August.

The main events are practice sessions on Wednesday 5th August, the Dundrod 150 national road races on Thursday 6th August and the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday 8th August, while there will also be a host of entertainment and family activities on offer throughout the week.

The 2014 meeting saw some spectacular racing, with Bruce Anstey being crowned ‘man of the meeting’ after hard fought victories in the superbike and supersport classes over Guy Martin and Lee Johnston.

Manxman Dan Kneen recorded the closest finish in the history of the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix, winning the superstock race by just 0.001 of a second from Dean Harrison, while Ivan Lintin led the supertwin race from start to finish for his second win in as many years.

A stellar line up that included Michael and William Dunlop, Ian Hutchinson, Peter Hickman, Glenn Irwin and Keith Amor all battled it out on the 7.4 mile Dundrod circuit, but for the fourth year in a row the lap record went unbroken.

Clerk of the course, Noel Johnston said:

“There will a lot of riders hoping to claim the title of the world’s fastest road racer in 2015, I certainly didn’t expect Bruce Anstey’s record to last this long.

“It’s great to be able to confirm the dates for next year’s racing. We’ve already had a lot of enquiries about the 2015 races and this early announcement will ensure that fans and competitors can start planning ahead.

“We’ve moved racing forward to accommodate the Manx Grand Prix which will make it easier for even more riders to come and compete. By the time Bike Week comes around you can be sure that we will once again have a world class line up of road racers on the grid.”

The 2015 dates announced today are subject to formal agreement by the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (MCUI) which will be confirmed at their upcoming inter centre conference.
