I am fairly sure Les Judkins is still racing at CRMC he certainly appears in the results this year!
According to Wiki and the TT database Arthur Wheeler was 73 when he last raced in the Manx, although like splashdown I though he was older than that! I seem to remember him getting younger some years! One of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
I remember Phillip McCallen's first year, my parents were marshalling up on the mountain during practice when he stopped there. I thought he was older than 18 but could be wrong.
When my brother and I started at the Manx circa 20 years ago the rules were that you had to be 18 by a set date, not the start of the event. That meant that to have turned 18 by that date and not turned 19 by the start of the event left about a 3 month window for birthdays that would allow you to first race at 18. Hope that makes sense! This meant that although both my brother and I had got the required license before our 18th birthdays neither of us could first ride until we were 19.
I've no doubt this was different in the past and may well be different again now but one thing that hasn't changed is that you had to be 18 the race in the Manx. So Michael can't of been 17, one of those dates must be wrong!!!
