As a somewhat senior (in years) member I would join in and maybe even post a pic or two...
But 2 things stop me.
1, I'm not quite as "senior" as you guys
2, My first bike was an 250 AJS, model 14 ( I think) and let's be honest it wasn't going to set the world on fire, scortch tarmac, or pull the "lasses"
An amazing bike. In a 30 mph zone it used to "fire" approximately at every lamp post... and did an amazing 500 miles per crank pin.
Eventually I upgraded to a Royal Oilfield 250 Continental GT.. The 5 speed version. Decked it out with "clip-ons, fibre-glass racing tank, 1/2 fairing, racing seat, and a reverse cone mega.
An amazing bike. 5 speed gearbox with at least 25 neutral "gears" My second bike was a 250cc AJS the same as you Shooie. As you say "It wasn't going to set the world on fire" but it sounded like a real bike to me in those days. Agreed, frequent engine rebuilds were the norm, but we didn't care.
