Re: GAIL'S MGP UPDATE: TODAY !
Monday morning update - After the hassles of Saturday, Gail had a trouble-free run this morning, lapping in around 27 minutes - not bad in the conditions. Following last night's heavy rain, the road was very greasy in places especially under the trees, so caution was definitely the order of the day. I went to Ballaspur to watch this morning, and Gail was certainly one of the quickest of the early riders though there. She started with her pal Eleanor Forrest, and had pulled out a lead of a half a minute or so on her by Ballaspur. She was originally intending to do 2 laps but after a minor 'moment' at Governor's Bridge she decided to call it a morning and save herself and the bike until tonight. The forecast for the rest of the day is good, so hopefully it will be dry all round this evening. Gail's bike was running well this morning and certainly sounded very crisp going through Ballaspur.
Quickest through there was probably Tom Clucas, while top newcomer Alex Donaldson was impressively smooth and quick also. As is often the case in MGP practice, the Classic bikes were quicker than many of the solos, and it was especially good to see Nick Jefferies back out on his beloved TT Course.
