Josh Brookes: Grid: 14th Finish: RET

“When we were P5 in morning warm-up I knew the bike could work well, and that we could have a good race. I made ground quickly and found myself in the leading group, and I felt really confident to go faster than them. I overtook when I could and as often as possible, and I managed to take the lead. The conditions started to change and we did a great tyre change which we timed perfectly. I took it easy on the slicks to test the conditions, but I hit a wet patch and unfortunately crashed on the out lap.It was upsetting to go out but it was great to see the progress we’ve made and to give the team something to cheer for. Looking to Imola, it’s a track I’ve enjoyed in the past and I’m confident that we can the performance level going and start challenging regularly.”

Karel Abraham: Grid: 22nd Finish: 14th

“Race 2 was a big improvement over yesterday’s race, and it was great to get two points after a really difficult weekend. We had lots of technical issues all the way from Friday Practice, and we didn’t have time to set the bike up properly for the weekend’s conditions. Then when it started to rain before Race 2 I knew that it might be difficult for us to make progress. It was the first time we’ve raced in mixed conditions this year, but we did a really quick pit stop and the guys did great work to time it right. After that I was able to do consistent laps and managed to score some more points. I haven’t raced at Imola before, but hopefully we’ll get lots of track time and can start to build on the progress we made in today’s race.”

Shaun Muir, Team Principal:

“Race 1 was a struggle for us. The team took a gamble with Josh's tyre choice which didn’t pay off, and it was a shame he lost ground after fighting to 8th place. Race 2 was a massive improvement for him, and we’ve made big steps in improving his feel and performance on the bike. Karel was unfortunately plagued by electric problems all weekend. We lost track time from Practice to Superpole and never got a chance to recover. It was also his first experience riding wet Pirellis on a superbike, so now we just have to move forward and he’ll come back stronger at the next race. I think we can start at Imola another level up with a good base setting, and fight for where we deserve to be.”
