What the island needs is what happened on Orkney a few years ago, when an independent company started a new rival ferry service,(after much political meddling and goings on) the guy persevered and now you can almost roll up to any of the 2 ferrys and get over and off easily, tt diehards ,like ourselves, would have been over many more times for other events,if the place was better connected,spending loads ,like we have in the last 30 plus visits,it's  the southern 100 this year for us but our heart lies in the big event.I squirm when I hear nonsense about the tt expanding,wake up politicians ,the island is worse connected than it was in the 70s. No fancy events team is going to make any difference,unless they have boat building skills.
