Sad day. One of my schoolboy heroes, Luigi was an absolute superstar, though incredibly modest. I met him on a number of occasions, and he was a delightful chap, with an engaging smile. He used to regularly travel over from Switzerland for the TT Riders Luncheon.
I still have the Stanley Schofield "Sound Stories" disc of Luigi from the sixties, with some fabulous sounding bikes. I think Luigi even rode a 500MV briefly in the 50s.
My deepest sympathy to his wife Tilde, and daughter Blanca. He will be sadly missed.
