Yorkshireman Jamie Coward arrived at the Colas Billown Course for the Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races with eight wins to his credit, equal with his father Paul and Bob Jackson.

At the conclusion of racing on Monday afternoon, the popular rider had added another three race victories to his tally to make it 11 and join Roy Richardson as the sixth most successful rider in this prestigious classic event, which was the fourth round of the Duke Road Rankings Championship 2019.

Bolton-le-Sands rider Alan Oversby scored a double taking his total number of wins to 14 and moving to fourth in the Pre-TT Classic Winners table, whilst St Helens Keith Shannon repeated his success of 2018 in the Office Equipment Centre 250cc Singles race.

Sandbach rider Jeff Ward and Gilwgrn’s Rhys Hardisty took their maiden race victories at the Pre-TT Classic Road Races.

Jamie Cowards treble, plus a new absolute lap record in the 4-Hire Post Classic Superbike race and race record moves up to third in the Duke Rankings a rise of 16 places.

Double winner Alan Oversby, who also set a new lap record in the Greystone LLC 500cc Senior Classic race is a new entry into the rankings, slotting into the 16th place ‘vacated’ by the Hebden Bridge man.

There are two other new entries to the top-forty, Mike Hose, who currently is the most successful rider at the Pre-TT with 18th race wins moves into 21st, after two thirds and a third place this year, as Keith Shannon moves into 29th position.

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club – Isle of Man Section Sidecar Race and the Steadplan Primus Racing Sidecar Race were both won by fellow Yorkshiremen Rod Bellas and Danny Quirk had the honour of opening and closing the 2019 Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races. Second in both races were Thirsk – Rochester pairing of Tony Thirkell and Trevor Johnson, whilst third places were shared by Welsh crew Keith Walters and Alun Thomas in race one and French- English team Patrick Geffrey and Andrew Haynes.

Apart from the magnificent trophies being awarded at the Prize Presentation in Castletown Square on Tuesday afternoon, in glorious sunshine, a total prize fund of over £14,000 was handed out to the successful competitors in the nine races held during the meeting.
