RE: Does motorcycle road racing on public roads in Ireland have a future?
As long as they continue with the funding by selling programs and local sponsors no. Irish road racing needs a shake up with all the races run under one organisation with major sponsorship, somebody like Relentless, Monster or Red Bull or any other major company that puts their name towards supporting extreme sports, with bigger funding they can improve safety, attract bigger name riders, better prize money etc.

The chances of that happening though are very slim but in the current economic climate road racing as it is won't survive, all the "big names" in road racing don't tend to do the nationals anymore anyway and the majority of the current rising TT stars have come through the British championships. There's also the argument that some of these national circuits just aren't suitable for a modern superbike to be blasting around either.
