Five welders from Yorkshire were allowed to come to the Island last week as "Key Workers", and failed to comply with the rules regarding COVID compliance during their visit.

They visited TESCO for personal reasons, instead of travelling directly from landing at the Sea Terminal to their appointed temporary residence.

This was noticed and they were questioned by the Police, placed under detention and subsequently given the standard 14 day prison sentence.

Since being placed in the prison, they have been given tests for the Virus and one of them has now proven to be positive.

This has now brought upon the prison inmates and staff, further related issues, in addition to potential issues with Shipping Personnel and Passengers, Police and shop staff, plus their related family members and associates etc…..

I fear there will be no sympathy for all of those concerned, in this incident
