Eunan McGlinchey joins Gearlink Kawasaki for 2021 BSB
Eunan McGlinchey will compete in the British Supersport Championship next season for the Gearlink Kawasaki team.
Northern Ireland prospect Eunan McGlinchey has signed a deal with the highly respected Gearlink Kawasaki team as he makes the step up to the British Supersport Championship in 2021.
The Aghadowey rider competed in the World Supersport 300 Championship this year after finishing fourth in the 2019 British Superstock 600 series, only 16 points behind champion Korie McGreevy.
McGlinchey, who left Team 109 Kawasaki in an amicable split after three years, joins Australian Ben Currie in a two-man line-up.
“I am absolutely over the moon to be joining the Gearlink Kawasaki team in 2021,” he said.
“Growing up as a young boy going to watch BSB with my dad, this was one of the teams that I always watched and now to be actually riding for them is like a dream come true.
“Even though it was a steep learning curve at world level, I finished the year having gained and learned a lot about new tracks and my own riding skills.
“Now I’m ready, eager and really looking forward to working and learning with a new team,” added McGlinchey, who won the British Junior Supersport crown in his rookie season in 2018.
“My goal this year is to be running at the front from the start. It looks like it’s going to be a competitive class, which I hope will make for brilliant racing and viewing for all the BSB fans.”
Meanwhile, Eglinton’s David Allingham will compete in the British Superstock 100 Championship next year for the Astro-JJR BMW team, while Donegal’s Caolan Irwin will ride for the junior team in the same class.
