Valentino Won Today
Guess its safe to post now ;-)
Cannot believe that no one has posted about Valentino`s awsome ride today at Philip Island to clinch Yamaha`s first 500 Moto Gp win since Wayne Rainey in 1992.I watched it live, then rerun on Eurosport and just to make sure BBC at lunchtime !
A once in a lifetime achievement that i don`t think i will see the likes of again. How the mighty Honda Chiefs must be feelin today ? The guys a God ! and you know what i enjoy most ? he always looks as tho he is luvin his racing. Someone special once told me `when you stop enjoying it its time to give up` Hopefully Valentino`s gonna be around for a long time yet.
cheers,
Stella

Re: Valentino Won Today
Spot on Stella, sat up and watched it myself and the guy has to be up there with the all time greats. Inferior bike but he has proved that it is the rider who makes the difference.

Didn't want to post anything in case it spoiled it for others but was sorely tempted to do so.

Yamaha have stated that they will be happy to carry the 46 number as well next year, (as they have said it is the man that matters) as Valentino wants to continue with it in recognition of his father (Grazziani - I think that how it is spelled) as that was his number. I personally think that is brilliant, and shows that Yamaha are not as concerned about the corporate image as some of the other majors are.

Ok, Honda allowed him to carry it also, but when you think how long it is since any other manufacturer took number 1, Yamaha have shown some great PR sensibility.

How many more championships can he win ????????

Btw, I may get the chance to be at the KDMC do in a couple of weeks, are you going (daft question really).

Re: Valentino Won Today
Yes he's the top rider at this time,to make it harder for him next season they should make him ride for Ducati,I think he could help them get it sorted.
What about Pedrosa winning 125 last season and then 250 this season,if he gets into the gym to get more muscle on what chance Moto GP in 2005 or 2006?

Re: Valentino Won Today
Yes Malcom, Mick Doohan was always my hero a totally different personality but awsome on a bike.Rossi is gonna be able to beat his records if he continues in motorcycling as his choosen sport.Would love to have a drink with Jerry Burgess to ask him what its been like working with two such different megastars !
Not definate about the KDMC dance as it clashes with another date but would love to catch up with everyone again.
cheers,
Stella

Re: Valentino Won Today
Yes, Stella, Jeremy Burgess, I would like to think it was this Aussie who played a major part in the successes of these two magnificent riders. Rossi is amazing, isn't he. It must be demoralising for his fellow competitors.
