Jan Granger, Arthur Simcock won the Dutch TT in 1930 on a 350AJS. Now there was an Australian Speedway team manager named Arthur Simcock in the 50s so you might be able to find out something about him.

Hi Bennie,

No date of birth for Arthur Simcock but here is the info I have received so far. I also have been provided with a speedway photograph will I will send to to off list.

JanJan,

When I read your email, the name "Simcock" rang a bell. I checked the IOM TT database & found he rode between 1927 & 1933. The name is listed as A. E. Simcock.

I found the note I made from an article in a 1936 Sydney publication. The name mentioned was "E. A. Simcock". They are possibly one-in-the-same.

The reason I made the notation is that this gentleman was one of the four selectors of the Australian Speedway Test teams in England in 1936. He is mentioned as being the "holder of the world's sidecar speed record".

If A.E.Simcock is E.A.Simcock, that is the only information I have.

Ross.

Just discovered this web site today!

Arthur Simcock was my wife's uncle and I'm sure it will be possible to obtain his date of birth and other relevant details if anyone is still interested.
