Re: Fao: Stella .
Mr Plant is a rock legend , Led Zep shaped the form of modern rock music...its a huge coup of the TT organisers to have got him....at last they seem to have realised what we want as bikers and race fans...remember the 80`s back to school thing they served up a few years back..mmmmmm

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
funny you should say that Tom!
I am staying in a cottage a short way up the side road form Sulby Bridge.
One sunny morning last year, during practice week, I walked up there and sat on the marshalls bench, soaking up the atmosphere. It was an amazing moment. Apart from the bird song, it was silent.
It didnt take me long to hera in my head, Renzo Pasolini, going down through the box as he came into view and, with that lrid riding style, scorched over the bridge and away.
I know we have great riders now AND amazing machines, but I am glad I witnessed those halcyon, heady days of the 60s, especially.
I have just bought a gadegt for storing digital pics straight from the memory card.
It also allows the storage of music and i have some 15 albums on there.
Then, guess what??! I sudenly eremebered the Stanley Schofiled LPs which I know also have on CD! So, I "ripped" 'em and will listen to them as I am on the Island.
This time, as I sit alone at Sulbv Bridge, I really WILL hear Jim Redmans "fiendish" Honda 6 and so much more.
Happy visit to all who are going over

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
Casrol R and melting tar, open megas and unsilenced expansion boxes, scrutineering in the open air listening to "In the Summertime" on someones old Bedford CV van radio.
Good day out for the lads, and cheapo racing.

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
Thats obscene!
I just had an image of Thruxton with Dave Croxford and a Seeley in a small van!
Ray Pickrell with an Aermachi called "Winkle" at Crystal Palace!
Being in pit lan at the TT when Kel Carruthers got his Benneli ride.
Having a pint at a pub at Groudle and seeing Percy Tait and entourage.
Staying at the same hotel as Ray Knight, production TT winner..
..and so on and so forth...
My mind is full of so many memories.
Roll on 6pm on saturday!
Good luck to all, visitors and competittors.

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
Returning from a late night at the Casino to find a 19 year old Bob Heath Fornicating with the fattest ugliest chambermaid you ever saw. IN MY BED, because I had the double.
Now that's Obscene.

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
I fell about at that Tom!
Clearly, your memories are on a different plain to mine!
Graphic nonetheless.
I feel I have "wasted" so much of my life on that wonderful Island!! ;-)

Re: FAO Tom Loughbridge
Ah!, but it gets better, the overhormoned young Heath paid a heavy penalty for his misdemeanor and contaminating my bed linen.
The following day the John Denty, (sadly later fatally injured at Tubergen, Holland), his mechanic and myself bound the unfortunate miscreant hand and foot. Then tied him to the garage drain pipe, hosed him down from top to bottom and stuffed the cold hose down the front of his kecks.
Then left him to cool off while went off for lunch with that gentleman racer T.M Albert Moule saying we can't leave him like that, to which the unanimous response was. "Oh yes we can".
We enjoyed and had as much fun with our racing as well.
