Best Day At Manx?
We are in England during the MGP. When is the best day to jump on a plane to see a race? Which race is the best?
We might just come over for the day...

Re: Best Day At Manx?
They used to do cheap flights from Liverpool airport. Try www.liverpooljohnlennonairport.com
I think youll find the 1am ferry wont get there until at least 5am, Hans,by which time itll be the crack of dawn.

The best time to go for a leisurely lap if you have a bike.

'Course it is, Helen, the coppers'll still be in bed. LOL
By the way, if you need to hire a car try St Bernards car hire on Douglas prom, near the casino, theyre cheaper than other places.

Re: Best Day At Manx?
Well we did some checking. There is only one airline flying from liverpool to IOM and that is Euromanx. The other airline has folded. And EUromany is just too expensive. There are no offers for a daytrip. The offers of the steampacket are much better but sadly the ferry crossings are at an unchristian time. If they had better sailingtimes more people would come over.
Ammo I checked and according to the schedule the ferry should arrive at 3.45. Where can you have a nice kip for a couple of hours?

Re: Best Day At Manx?
Hi Hans, I would think you would be able to get a bit of kip in the passenger lounge at the ferry terminal at Douglas, however, youre quite right the ferry does get in at the time you say, thats because its the "Fastcraft", if you go further up the coast to Heysham, which is next to Morecambe, there is a 02:15am sailing, which is the one I used to get, and its the "Convential" ferry (the slow boat lol) which usually gets there around about 06:00am,so you can get a bit of kip as you travel across.

Re: Best Day At Manx?
Yes Ammo is right if you get to Douglas in the early hours you can kip in the passenger lounge.
Then I'm told if you want a good breakfast early,
walk out of the front sea terminal, take a left
go past the other Steam Packet office to the mini
roundabout, take the right, you should have the bus station on your left and 'the Caff' is the first shop on the right, there is a car park next to it, only a couple of minutes walk and I believe
they are open 6 or 7am, can check if I remember !
