I got a lovely letter this morning from the Unit where Dave stayed for a long time. I had sent a small amount of money instead of flowers. They will always remember him with great fondness.

Just to let you know I've passed on a write up to Bill, about Dave so that should be on his site soon.

Yet again Charlie has read my mind - I was going to suggest a practice week quiz! Thursday would make sense as there's no evening practice.

Rosie,

I there any mileage in the idea of a Dave Saville tribute t-shirt?
Your own t-shirts are "must buys", which made me think of the idea.
It could even be a "TT sidecar legends" t-shirt, with pics of Dave, Moly and Dan, Fath, Enders, Jock and more.
If it was done that way, it could become a wider seller maybe?

I'm up for the 1st of June, and I'll be wearing my original Dave Saville T-shirt! I would go for something like Mike's suggestion, but we would need 2seedcorn" money to buy them in. Let's discuss it at the June do?

Personally I'm not sure on the creg as a place in veiw of Dave's accident. Bill has now posted the write up I put together about Dave, and mentioned the bungalow as another possible location, which would be a safer place for visitors too stop. The academy would be a fantastic and fitting tribute to Dave, and t shirts sales would definately be a good starting point to raise funds.

The "T" shirts are a great idea and once we have had a meeting, I will see about designs. don't think I can attach them to a posting can I?
It was because of Dave's accident we deceided on the Creg and all the family agree, it is a popular spot for watching and I am sure it will get alot of use there. It is a frequently used ciggy stop for local bikers on their laps around the course during the rest of the year, so it will bewell used then as well.
There are a few problems to sort out with the race academy, but nothing we can't solve.
There's nothing like a challenge !!!!!!!

Rosie, I am glad folk like the t-shirt idea!
The Sulby designs are always good (thats why I have so many!) and I know you could do a good job on the "sidecar legends" idea.
The biggest problem will be who to leave out!
I have 2 shirts in styles that would suit.
One is a sweatshirt that is covered in heavy prints taken from photos and the other is a real 70s style one. It has the front covered in actual photos, of, in this case, GP stars ofe the time. This would leave the back free for some appropriate wording?
I know you will have good contacts for the job.
It would seem to me that a good design would sell on the Island for more than one year and would sell well at mainland short circuit venues, the msot obvious being Scarborough. (Was there ever a more exciting sidecar ma around Olivers Mount?
As for showing possible designs, can admin find a suitable place to post some samples?
I cant wait to but mine!!

See you soon.

Mike
