Well to be totally honest i`m not saying its right....

But it looks to be going down the same route as hospitality at BSB ?

Its not compulsory but if you have the money .....

Is it any worse than the big increase in board and lodgings for the "big year" that i am lead to believe has happened ?

Buisness is gonna be big buisness next year i would imagine.

Just re read the article and the public will still be able to use facilities provided outwith the Creg.

OK i`ll batten down the hatches and wait for responses

Hi Stella & Helen,

This is nothing new for the Creg,
It has been going on for years, Ok the price this year might be a bit higher than normal, but you have to make ends meet,

But bear in mind that its " open" all year round, 7 days a week, not just for the TT,
Picture this, its jan/ february, the weather outside is not great, A bit of sleet about, The police are red hot on the drink driving, Its close to a 2 mile walk from Onchan, & a taxi is going to cost you a arm an a leg, there & back ( & before Fitz says anything not a lot of cabs will pick up, because they enjoy the shorter fares in douglas/onchan)
How many people do you think they get in through the door, to drink & eat,, unless its changed in the last 4 years not a lot,

Its the diehards that have kept the place going for years, Drinking all year round, with out them the Creg would have been shut years ago, & i should know!!

Good luck to David Teece, & i hope he gets as much fun out of the place as i did, ( just mind the ghost upstairs,,)

Stella, I agree about board and lodgings and price hikes which I think is scandalous. TT equals tourist tax to a lot of people and that came out in a recent court case here. Shame they don't run accommodation like the Greeks used to - inspected rooms had a Government sign up showing the maximum the owner could charge. I tried to get my spare rooms registered but the fire brigade require an extra wall to be built but if I get it done, I will only want a fair (not TT07) price.

Couldn't agree more Rocketman. Caught out one TT I had a sausage, couple of chips and a teaspoon of peas at an exhorbitant price and was disgusted not so much at the food but at the TT rip off which a lot (but not all) indulge in. All credit to those who play fair and why not name and shame those who charge over the odds. Too late for 2007, but it may help visitors for the future.

I would be interested in knowing what they intend charging for the grandstand during practice and racing.

Once I saw a sign outside a Douglas pizza joint (smoking pun :?: )
It was advertising a TT special pizza great I though I'm starving but on closer inspection the sign was a paper plate stuck on over something else Then I realised the TT special pizza was just the regular pizza on offer but at double the price.

I went hungry

Pykey , yes one of the events you have mentioned is in my thoughts for this year , i do fancy one of the irish races as i have never attended any over there so that is a distinct possibility , as for the B&B in the I.O.M im very dissapointed as we love it , saying that will the ordinary punter really notice a difference between 2007 and previous TT`s ? i dont think so , maybe the only real difference will be the numbers who are there .
