As I just said on there, the article is written by Mac McDiarmid.
His track record speaks for itself.
I see that he has a book out for TT and is doing a signing in Douglas during race week. He also edits Island Racer.
As a Manx resident, he would be expected to give the right slant.

It still make me blench when the death totals are given as hard figures..

People only seem to remember this fact from an article as long as this one...

Let's hope no one will have any reason at all to make nasty reports this year and we have a "good" TT.........................and SAFE !!!

I think this is a fantastic piece of jurnoism. Although I don't know Mac Mac personally I think he has done a great work here. Totally balanced, the bad with the reasons why we love the sport so much.

And lets face it, as riders, ex-riders and long term supporters, all mus admit that it is a thril to race on the roads and part of that thrill is the risk.

Great article, as ever, but I did notice that the event "was only stopped for 2 world wars and the 2002 foot and mouth epidemic!" Surely he meant 2001!
