An Inter Norton at the only motorcycle race ever held at Goodwood?

OK, I'll take a flyer.

It's April 14 1951, and it's Dickie Dale running to 3rd in the 350 race of the "Motor Cycling" Goodwood Saturday meeting, which in subsequent years became "Silverstone Saturday".

He's riding the 350 Inter on which Geoff Duke won the 1949 Junior Manx GP.

Not Dickie Dale.
This is Dickie Dale (112) with G T Miller (Triumph, 75) and Harry Bostock (Triumph, 12)

The rider pictured rode in the Island - I did not say 'raced' in the Island

The rider rode at least one ISDT and may have also ridden the Manx Two Day Trial, but she did not ride the Inter here, something more suitable.

I know, I know - I was annoyed at myCensored2self

First time I looked at it, I thought "that's a very slim rider", but I didn't draw the obvious conclusion.

Olga was a very good friend of the real curmudgeon - Rex McCandless.

It's a wonder that she didn't have a Featherbed Norton for that meeting.

When she spoke to me on the phone a couple of months ago, she mentioned coming to the Island to stay with the McCandlesses. I'm looking forward so much to meeting her, but it'll have to wait now as she was called away on urgent family business last week.
I'm sure she would forgive you!
