Who is the oldest living ex TT rider?

You certainly know your stuff Larry, correct in every respect.Jack enjoys life in Edinburgh in a care home and will be 100 on March 17th.
He raced in the island 1939 to 1953 with WW2 interruption.

Jock in his first TT, the 1939 Lightweight. He raced what could have been the same machine through until 1953. He also rode the Ulster Grand Prix in 1951 and 1952.

Jackie McCredie
Received this message today from Gordon Matthew.

I'm not sure if you are interested, but I thought I would let you
know that Jackie McCredie, a TT racer from 1939 until 1953, will be
100-years-old on 17th March, 2008. He is the oldest living TT rider
and is an honorary member of the TT Riders' Association.

He was born in Hope Street, Bo'ness, Scotland, on 17th March 1908.
In his younger days, he owned a garage at Jock's Lodge, near
Edinburgh. He ran this for 32 years, retiring in 1986. His great
love was always motorbikes and, in 1939, he went to the Isle of Man
and won a second-class Replica (Bronze Statuette) and £20. This was
won even though he skidded off the course twice, but finishing 30
seconds inside the limit. The course at that time was 37 miles and
the distance travelled was 7 laps of the course.

After the intervention of the War, Jackie continued to ride in the
Isle of Man until 1953, winning 4 replicas altogether, 1 silver in
1948 and 3 bronze.

Although 100 on the 17th, he is still very active, playing the piano,
singing and getting up on the dancefloor at Braeside House,
Edinburgh, the home for the elderly where he lives.

I spoke to the manager of his home, and she says he is very well. He is a quiet, rather shy man, and I think is a little overwhelmed by the fuss.
