Attention: Trivia Buffs!
Here's one for the trivia experts:
The Wheels Through Time Museum
http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com has a wonderful collection of vintage motorcycles and cars in North Carolina. They also have a mystery. It is a 1916 bike called a Traub. It has a side-valve 80 cubic inch motor, three speed transmission and dual-action rear brake. So far no one has been able to tell them anything about who made it or where. To add to the mystery it was found about 30 years ago inside a bricked up wall in Chicago. That makes you wonder if it was involved in something like the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and someone wanted to hide it. The owner of the museum, Dale Walksler said of the unknown maker "This man was able to engineer, design, create the patterns, do the machine work, all in a finesse that was light years afead of any of the manufacturers of the time." Makes you think of Edgar Jessop, doesn't it?
