What a TT !
In my researches this weekend, I note that the 1913 TT was won by T.Wood on a Scott------------------
The race was on the early Mountain Cicuit which was slightly shorter than the one used today--
However the race was over seven laps, a total of 262.5 miles......
It took Mr Wood FIVE HOURS, TWENTY SIX MINUTES AND EIGHTEEN SECONDS to complete the race at an average speed of 48.28 mph---
I bet he couldn't sit down for WEEKS after that---
His fastest lap was 43 mins 10 secs Speed 52.12 mph--
NOW that must have been some race-----

Re: What a TT !
Ian,
Several years ago I was lucky enough to do an interview with Stanley Woods for a magazine here in N. Ireland. The great man was adamant that with modern machinery the riders should race over NINE laps.
Perhaps I have now discovered where the man was coming from.
Regards,
Big D.
