UGP Press Statement today.
Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club Official Statement

Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club are pleased to announce, following a meeting with residents of the Dundrod circuit, tomorrows Ulster Grand Prix will carry on as it has in previous years. The club would like to make it clear that we have always had an excellent relationship with Dundrod residents, and the breakdown was caused by totally unacceptable behaviour of a very small number of marshalls on duty during our first practice session on Wednesday. The club will not stand for any such behaviour and have since removed the marshalls in question, and will not let them officiate at any more of our race meetings, as is already the case with these marshalls in the Southern Centre of the Motorcycle Union of Ireland. The club wish to apologise to the residents for any upset caused.

We now look forward to tomorrows Ulster Grand prix, with the expectation of a safe and exciting days racing, coupled with continued harmonious relationships with all the local residents who are a key component to the Ulster Grand Prix and all the road races. Lastly, we appeal to all race fans to respect the property of landowners around the circuit and to obey our hardworking band of marshalls who voluntarily do a very difficult job very well.

RE: UGP Press Statement today.
Shhh it's top secret.

They upset an old lady who lives on the course. She had parked her vehicle on the course directly on the racing line and would not move it at the beggininng of the first session. the problem was she owned the land it was parked on.

She would would no doubt have moved it immediately had she been asked politely but, it is alleged that a very tiny minority of big men in marshalls uniforms ganged up and kicked of with a tirade of foul mouthed threatening abuse.

So she just locked it up and left it there, apparently a delegation of top riders and official pleaded with her, but she was having none of it after the threats , the Police and no one could touch the vehicle because she owned the land.

So they had to build a barricade of straw bales around it and make a chicane.

Despatches from the front report this dangerous opponent was last seen looking from her battlements sipping a large glass of Don's Bushmills finest enjoying the spoils of victory, she could clearly be seen to be armed with a zimmer frame so the oppononets withdrew.

The moral is that a polite ' PLEASE COULD YOU' would most likely have prevented the outbreak of hostilities with this dangerous lady.

Don't mess with locals.
