Eugene Laverty, the twenty five year old Irish rider who made his début in the 2011 World Superbike season and took third place in the overall rider standings to make him the up and coming rider of the year, will race on the Aprilia in house team in the WSBK 2012 season alongside five time World Champion Max Biaggi.


Laverty, born in Toomebridge on June 3rd, 1986, signed a contract which commits him to Aprilia Racing for the next two seasons.

On October 18th during the tests on the Portimao track, which actually “launched” the 2012 season, Laverty immediately demonstrated an extraordinary feeling on his Aprilia RSV4, stopping the clock with the best time of the test session.
