Ex-Grand Prix star Jeremy McWilliams will make his road racing debut at the Relentless International North West 200 in May.

McWilliams, who has enjoyed a glittering career in motorcycle racing which includes a victory at world championship level in the 250cc Grand Prix class at Assen, will ride in the newly-introduced SuperTwins race at the Triangle showpiece as part of Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki team.

The news was confirmed yesterday and McWilliams will join Farquhar, plus rising young talent Jamie Hamilton from Ballyclare on the grid for the SuperTwins race, which will be held as part of a revamped North West 200 schedule on the Thursday evening of race week, May 17, following the daytime practice session.

Event favourite Michael Rutter could also compete for Farquhar’s outfit on an Kawasaki ER6 in the SuperTwins 650 class, although the deal is yet to be clinched as Rutter finalises his plans for the 2012 British Superbike Championship.
