Mick Walker 1942 - 2012

We are sad to learn of the passing of Mick Walker after a long illness.. He was known for all the excellent motorsport books he wrote with absolute accuracy.

It was his book about Bob McIntyre that triggered off my desire to place a commemorative plaque to Bob at the Sulby Glen Hotel.

I feel now that when we unveil the plaque we will also take time to remember Mick.

Condolences to his family and friends...........

We were so very sad when we heard the news that Mick had passed away. His books are used a a source of reference all over the world, everything he wrote was thoroughly researched. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. Thank you Mick for your encouragement and many years of friendship. Pat.

I am very sad to hear this news. A wealth of motorcycling knowledge has been lost to us all. I remember him staying at Steads Hotel during the 1972 Manx, and I have admired his passion for our sport since then. My deepest sympathy go to his family.

So sad to hear of Micks passing.

I have many of his books in my library and one in particular signed by Mick himself.

Sincerest condolences to Micks family and friends at this very sad time.

Malcolm.

Having read many of his books and then meeting him and becoming a friend, I can only say he'll be missed. I know Mick was working on his biography and I hope that somehow this will be published. Condolences to his family and friends.
