North West 200 Race Day Saturday

There are five races scheduled for today, starting at 11:00 BST with the first Supersport.
Then it's Superbike 1, Superstock, Supersport 2, Superbike 2.

First Race today - The 600cc Supersport

With one lap to go, the race was red flagged and William Dunlop declared the winner.

First Supersport race placings:

1 William Dunlop,
2 Alastair Seeley,
3 John McGuinness,
4 Cameron Dunlop,
5 Gary Johnson,
6 Michael Dunlop


Second Race up is the Superbike 1.

Seeley and John McGuinness battle it out for the lead on lap one with with Michael Rutter in third.

Seeley overshoots at Church Corner. McGuinness is new race leader on lap three of six.

William Dunlop has come off at Ballysally Roundabout.

Seeley working hard to get back up to second place.

John McGuinness wins at the North West for the sixth time in his career.

First Superbike placings:

1 John McGuinness,
2 Alastair Seeley,
3 Cameron Donald,
4 Michael Rutter,
5 Ryan Farquhar,
6 Bruce Anstey


Its the Superstock action up next.

The Superstock race is stopped on the first lap. There was been an accident at Mill Road roundabout.

The race gets underway again at around 14:30 with Hillier leading Farquhar

After a heck of a race, it's the Suzuki of Alastair Seeley that crosses the line first, ahead of James Hillier and Ryan Farquhar. However the win goes to Michael Rutter who was in the second group of starters. A third second place finish then for Seeley, with James Hillier third overall

Rutter is now the second most successful rider in the history of the North West 200. He now has 13 wins, level with the legendary Joey Dunlop. The late Robert Dunlop won 15 times here.


Now it's the 2nd Supersport Race.

At the end of lap 1 there is a group of 4 making a break, Donald leads, followed by Seeley, then Anstey and then William Dunlop.

Towards Ballasally roundabout the front four bunch up and it's anyones race from here.

Heading towards Metropole, William takes to the front with Donald behind him, then comes Anstey and sitting behind is Seeley.

Into lap 3 it's William in the lead with Seeley about 100 mtrs behind. Then comed Donald and Anstey with McGuinness leading the second grouping.

Into Lap 4 and it's Seeley in front of William Dunlop, a break to Cameron Donald and Anstey together, then comes McGuinness with Michael Dunlop behind him.

At Ballysally, McGuinness breaks from Michael Dunlop and joins the duo of Anstey and Donald just in front of him.

Into Lap 5 and at Mill Road roundabout, the front two remain as they are, however Donald takes over in third from Anstey with McGuinness close behind the latter. Michael Dunlop is still sitting behind in what looks like 6th place.

At the start of the last lap, both Seeley and William Dunlop come over the line together.

Then a gap to Cameron Donald, Anstey and McGuinness with Michael Dunlop closing.

William takes the lead heading towards University

William in front at Metropole,- Seeley muscles his way into the lead at Church with William up on the kerb !!

Seeley breaks along the Coast Road towards the finish line.

At the line it's:-

1 Seeley
2 Dunlop
3 Anstey
4 McGuinness


Next up it's the Superbike 2.

They're away with McGuinness in front leading Seeley and Hutchy

Seeley leads McGuinness into University and a big gap back to Hutchy

At Blackhill Seeley stretches his lead over McGuinness and a way back it's Hutchy, Anstey and Donald together with Farquhar following.

Lap 2 at Ballysaly Seeley stretches his lead from McGuinness and a gap to Rutter, with a heck of a lead over the next group.

Start of Lap 3 and it's Seeley, McGuinness, Rutter and Andrews.

At Blackhill on lap 3 it's the same three out in front, with a long gap back to Simon Andrews, then comes Michael Dunlop and then Ryan Farquhar

Lap 4 at Mathers, it's Seeley, with a gap back to McGuinness and Rutter who are together.

Start of Lap 5 and Seeley looks as if he is making a break. McGuinness in a solid 2nd with Rutter maintaining his position in 3rd place. A long way back to Andrews and then Michael Dunlop

Rutter takes McGuinness on the run into University and now starts the chase after Seeley.

At the start of the last lap, Seeley has a lead of 2.7 seconds over Rutter and them comes McGuinness close behind.

At Metropole it's Seeley and a static gap to Rutter who has McGuinness following behind

At the finish line it's Seeley with a hat-trick of wins this week, with Rutter second and McGuinness coming home in third.

The North West 200 is Back! and at 208MPH!
Great to watch some great races online.
The blue sky's and the happy faces have been missing for a few too many years.
McCallens record still stands!
