Any changes to the Manx Grand Prix should be delayed for at least another year.
That's the belief of Middle MHK Howard Quayle.
The Department of Economic Development has put forward proposals for the future of the MGP from 2013 which would see a shorter event concentrating more on Classic bikes and re-branded under the TT banner.
In Tynwald yesterday Middle MHK Howard Quayle asked why the Department of Economic Development ignored compromise proposals put forward by the Manx Motor Cycle Club.
Mr Quayle says he's not against any amendments but he doesn't think changes should be rushed into.
yes me to, this would give plenty of time for both parties to get round the table and start talking, very worying to hear people already talking about not going to the manx next year, hope your government are listening and loging on to thease forums,,,,,,rob
Has there been any news as to the delay in changes..? Yes it makes the most sense to re-think it all... A bunch of people would like to know... as if the proposed changes happen next year... well.. they won't come over....

I suspect the IOM Gov did not wish to take the risk of delivering bad news while the TT was on, and possibly risk upsetting marshals etc who may have staged a protest. Now that the TT is over, we may get drip fed more (bad)news.
