The Steam Packet Southern 100 International Road Races has always attracted the cream of the road race competitors since it was first run in 1955, some 59-years ago and this year is no exception.

Over the years, many of the rising stars of the era, have cut their teeth around the 4.25-mile Billown Course and have gone on to become British and World Champions and once again 2014 will see some of today’s rising stars gracing us with their presence and all will be aiming for the top step on the podium, not overawed by the ‘elite’ that will also be challenging for the silverware on offer.

Dean Harrison, Jamie Hamilton and James Cowton, enjoyed some epic battles at last years ‘friendly races’ and all three are on top form his season.

Add to the hot trio Manxman, Dan Kneen who is enjoying a revival season on the John Burrows, Cookstown BE Racing machines in the north and south of Ireland; Lincolnshire’s Ivan Lintin, along with Seamus Elliott and the action promised will be electric!

Not to forget two of the international stars who were team-mates last year, but have joined different teams for 2014 and both have shown they are on top form with their respective teams, Conor Cummins and William Dunlop.

Russ Mountford, Roy Richardson, Tim Poole Davy Morgan and Rad Hughes are also likely to upset form on the day.
