Jenny T - TOUGH WEEKEND AT KNOCKHILL

Two Wheel Racing had their toughest weekend of the championship so far during the 4th round of the British Superbike Championship at Knockhill last weekend but such has been their success this year it was more a case of not reaching the high expectations of the season as oppose to a bad weekend. Jenny Tinmouth smashed her previous personal best lap time and as she and her Honda Fireblade move towards the middle of the season she is also heading to her favourite circuits and she does so full of confidence.

Knockhill is a short tight circuit and after producing quick times in FP1 and 2 the team decided to make some changes to the bike for FP3 and qualifying to try and improve times further. Jenny's times continued to improve but near the end of qualifying she lost the front at the hairpin and the team thought their session was over, however some quick work by Steve Bradley enabled Jenny to get back on track and post her quickest lap of the session qualifying in 25th place.

In Race 1 Jenny got off the line well and she soon got into a rhythm producing consistent lap times, well within her previous personal best, finishing in a commendable 19th position. Race 2 was to be more of the same with Jenny's times again consistent and her fastest laps coming towards the end of the race while others dropped off the pace and she finished in 18th place.

Rider Jenny Tinmouth said;

"Initially I was disappointed with this weekend but in retrospect we came away with two more strong finishes and my ideal lap time was in the 49's which is a huge improvement on last year, we made some major changes to set up which I adapted to quickly and in both races we had consistently strong lap times right to the chequered flag. The next circuit is Brands Hatch, which is one of my favourites, I am really enjoying my racing this season and I can't wait to get out there."

Crew Chief Steve Bradley said;

"I think this has been a great weekend and has continued with the successes we have had right from the start of the season. Jenny is riding really well at the moment and is adapting to any changes we make if they suit or altering them if they don't. It is always a tough circuit for us here but we have come away having had 2 more good races and are heading to some of Jen's favourite tracks now so it will be exciting to see what we can achieve as the season develops"

The next round of the Championship is at Brands Hatch on 18th-20th July with qualifying and all the races being shown live on British Eurosport.
