Billy McConnell and Graeme Gowland were separated by just 0.001s in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship race at Cadwell Park, showing how - as they come to Donington Park this weekend (5/6/7 September) - their title race couldn't be closer.

McConnell's narrow victory in the previous round returned the Australian to the lead of the title battle, but just eight points separate the Smiths Racing Triumph team-mates ahead of this weekend's two races.

Former champion Alastair Seeley had a tough weekend at Cadwell Park with a sixth place and a DNF and the Martrain Yamaha rider knows it is crucial to have a strong performance this weekend to close the 30 point deficit to McConnell.

Gearlink Kawasaki's Glenn Irwin was victorious for the second time this season at Cadwell Park and is bidding to edge ahead of Luke Jones, Luke Stapleford and Luke Mossey, who are all in the chasing pack and aiming to end the season with some podium finishes.

Ashby's Taylor Mackenzie is coming to his home round with the aim of building on his best result of fifth earlier in the season at Snetterton, whilst Team Traction Control's James Rispoli is bidding to make amends after crashing out of the race at Cadwell Park when he was in a position to secure his first top three finish.
