2015 TT ferry prices
Just received an email with the prices for next year's ferry crossing. There doesn't seem to be much of an increase on the last couple of years.

A van and three passengers for race week £578:00. With the bikes in the back along with (comfortable) camping gear it makes sense using the van rather than separate bike tickets.

My invoice arrived too. Car plus 2 travelling on the Thursday before Practice Week returning Thursday after race week = £436

The same booking for the last two years has been under £240.

The higher TT tariff for fares has been brought forward to the 27th May, 10 days before the first race day!

I've amended my booking to bring my outward sailing to the 25th May = £224.

That's a big increase!

For 2013 the van and three passengers was about £530 IIRC, so the increase two years on isn't much. I wonder why vans have gone up less than cars? Bike and rider is what now, £250 ish? So for us it's about £250 cheaper using the van and a damn site more comfortable when we get there due to the bigger tent, barbecue etc. we can carry in the van.

The Serow will be a good bike for over there,  am thinking of having a swap about next year, part with the Pan and the XL200 and getting one myself,  I am finding the Pan a bit heavy these days,  and the X L could do with a bit of tlc that I can't be bothered with , so time for a change me thinks,

RE: 2015 TT ferry prices
I did consider the idea 3 or 4 years ago , but at the time was only thinking of upgrading the XL , but this time it will be a total downsize , and the little Serow is light enough for on the back of the Bugilow but powerful enough to plod around the Dales and the back roads of the IoM and look as I may I can't seem to find anything that ticks more boxes than the little Serow , the only down side is they seem to hang on to their money a little too well , some people think that if it has that badge on the tank thats all that matters , just have to see how it goes after crimbo

RE: 2015 TT ferry prices
Hi

New to this site but I have managed to reserve my ferry tickets for 2016 race week, paid holding deposit. Can anyone advise as to what sort of pricing I can expect. Car and two passengers.

Campsite booked and paid . Cant wait.

Agreed yamanx as a ballpark figure. The fares are regulated and published in advance. The bit they don't tell you is what discounting they apply to each sailing. This is a similar business model to other travel operators. There's a maximum standard fare and when things are looking slack, they offer limited discounts to try and entice people.

The 2015 maxima are here http://www.steam-packet.com/assets/pdfs/...cea14c2bbe

The most expensive prices are in the pink column and as you can see, a car plus 2 comes in at £233 each way. 2016 fares are yet to be published however the government regulate the increases and with inflation being so low and the falling oil price, I wouldn't envisage a big hike.

Do you mean Ballamoar flekker?

I've not been to it myself, but a guy I was talking to at last night's practice was singing its praises.

Tips, I will leave for others. I live here so you really need a visitor perspective. if you have any "local knowledge" type questions however, please feel free to ask.
