2015 IMGold Manx Grand Prix oversubscribed
With entries for this year’s IMGold MGP now closed, race Secretary Caroline Etherington has announced that Junior and Supertwin/Lightweight and Full Factory Winnerswear Senior races are once again oversubscribed, and there are entries from more than 70 completely new riders for the newcomers’ races.
“With entries from as far afield as South Africa, Australia and the USA the IMGold MGP is a truly international event,” says Caroline, “and of course we’re delighted to welcome back some of the newcomers from last year who will be hoping to shine in the Junior, Supertwin/Lightweight and Full Factory Winnerswear Senior races.”
All those who entered have now been informed but with entries restricted to just 90 per class, there are sure to be some disappointments.
“You could say we’re a victim of our own success,” says Caroline. “The IMGold MGP has gone from strength to strength and when you think that only four years ago we had just 44 newcomers enter, it is clear that the road racing community is backing the event wholeheartedly.
“This is yet more proof that the IMGold MGP is once again seen as the clear route to future TT success.”
Amongst the list of well-known riders, Laxey lad Billy Redmayne, the 2014 Newcomers A winner, will be competing in this year’s Junior and Senior races, and he can’t wait to be back:
“The Manx is unique in its friendly, encouraging yet fiercely competitive atmosphere – and it’s by far the best fun I’ve had on a motorbike!”
The IMGold Manx Grand Prix runs from 22nd August – 4th September.

This is brilliant news, well done to the MMCC, let's hope they can continue this momentum.
