I love listening to Roy's commentary from Randy Hairpin, here's hoping we get a few more gems from him.
It's a shame we lost the thread from the old site, but a couple that I remember "just listen to the Italian national anthem" when Gary Johnson went through on the MV. and from the Southern "they should just about to be in Maurice's s#1te by now"
I confess to having been responsible for starting the Roy Moorisms thread on the vanished site.
I'll try to link to that archive here so that, hopefully, Roy Moore fans can refresh the memories and post some new quotes from the master.
Cant quote him exactly but does anyone else remember during one of the races he spoke about the farm animals thinking they where going for a day out but they where actually going to the slaughter house. Did make me chuckle to myself

I Think that was on Monday the 8th in the pre-race introduction story telling, "Going for a little trip"... "Turns left at Tromode, an might be in a burger by Friday".
"A few yrs ago they screwed up a perfectly good working website just because they want to be 'modern' and now we have a sluggish ugly problematic and feature lacking website. but hey, its modern..., old sites are always better".
Today they played a clip from the 1964 Southern 100 it wasn't Roy commentating, but there was the classic line " sometimes you push and push and nothing happens" from the days before clutch starts but could easily be taken in another context.
I've just heard a classic one from Roy, I'm currently listening to the pre TT classic races and he said "if it wasn't so cold it would be a wee bit warmer"
Did I hear that John McGuinness was in one of the races earlier???
Will have to check the tapes for that one!

Rider is Hefyn Owen from Anglesey.
Did anyone listen to him talking about getting French leasons after miss- pronouncing a French sidecar crew's name, he said he got the French lesson details from a phone box!!!!!! Classic coments from the classic races
I take it that the mention of John McGuinness was a Roy memory to fill 'dead air' as they say in radio speak that got interrupted as the bikes approached. I guess the Paton made Roy think of JM as I've never remembered him to do the Southern Races and a quick search of southern100.com found no results.
"Thoughts of John McGuinness at the ah... ep a there's only one rider here"
then
"Well John McGuinness took the win in the Classic TT, the 500"
another one found in the 850cc Classic
Bill Swallow in the lead with his distinctive black leathers,
"He's not letting advertising encroach on his riding style"
