Hi everyone

Maybe a stupid question but what's the best chance of getting a ferry ticket for next year ?

Is it just waiting till February and hoping? Or is there less chance this year with the ferries

I suppose it all depends on when you want to go & when you want to come back, as well as how you want to travel, foot passenger, bike, car, van.
Foot and possibly bike, I would guess will be possible come the reissue of the reserved tickets for those who didn't make payments, car and van a lot less so.

First choice is to go with a bike on the ferry, easy on dates as long as we see a couple days of the racing. Was a lot easier to book last year it seems

You will defo get them after february we weren`t going in 2015 and were going to try someting different but on the run up to TT we couldn`t handle not going phoned the steam packet wednesday of practice week and go us both booked on.If you register with the steam packets website you can ammend bookings online makes it much easier as there is tickets for sailings come up every day on the run up to the event with people pulling out.

But isn't there less ferries this year so maybe less chance of getting a place ? I know a lot of people are hanging on till February so it still mite be full then

Yeah that was said about fewer ferrys but still sure you will get on if you get a ticket but dont like the times etc you can go in the standby line at the port so that would be another option.

Well we have been offered really poor crossings next year going out the Sunday of practice week and coming home early morning on the Wednesday of race week meaning we will miss half the racing which is not ideal with my work commitments. This year we couldn't get to the booking office till the Thursday of practice week and ended up with the rubbish ! Our own fault I suppose. Was going to ask is it worth pestering the steam packet office now or waiting till February What do you think folks?

This year we changed the dates once we was there, I think it's easy to just swap return dates while your there.

We just rang up and asked if there were any available ferries back to liverpool on the day we wanted to come back. I'm only worrying about getting there, worry about getting back once I'm there !
