Geez if it aint broke dont fix it !!!!!! Fanzones for every one? what they going to do about boats and digs how will the infastructure cope the roads are jammed and dangerous enough already

Just got a message from a local who was our host many years ago. She was wondering about more accommodation being available to cope with the extra visitors.

Regardless of the promoter a ten year contract seems awfully long, especially if they head off in the wrong direction!

I got a notification this morning that a few people I follow on Twitter had followed them. I took a (very brief) look at their account and it appears their field is music promotion.

I can only hope that they have the 'spirit' of the event at heart.

I must be getting forgetful, as i remember it the original adverts were for someone to run the 'operational promotional and commercial' side of the TT and festival' (oh yeh it still does)- potential bidders were required to have relevant experience of running an event like the TT - at the time we all wondered who but the current team could possibly have had that sort of experience and it looks like we were right - nobody did.
 Looks like the operational side of things is being given less weight now although the CEO mentions it in the press blurb obviously the current (outstandingly good) clerk of the course isn't aware of any change giiven that he says everything remains the same operationally? I started doing a bit of looking and it does appear that their only motorsport experience is doing a little hospitality for lotus at the italian grand prix - they link themselves with a lot of big brand names but I'm not sure they are anything other than bit part players certainly over the years I've heard of many of the big players and have never even heard of them. Lets not forget that they were responsible for the world wide marketing success of 'BURN' energy drinks at the olympics - no me neither.
What their page is full of is standard marketing BS and i suspect that a good delve into many of their claims will reveal a story behind every headline.
Only DED could possibly think of giving an untried and inexperienced company a 10 year contract to take care of the islands crown jewels but don't worry lads the IOM gov have a long history of awarding very sound contracts to outside consultants (erm??) .and somebody with a track record in making the butties for a failed F1 team must be a good catch. 
Of course they will just hire in some experience and you will judge how much confidence DED have in it by how high up the motorsports ladder the staff bail out to them. The Island has no Tranfer of Undertakings legislation so everyone will have to volunteer, the 10 year contract is probably more to ensure security of employment for the redundant government staff than any good commercial reason.
I fear a lot of out of the box thinking will go on and in a couple of years we'll all be begging for subaru laps back.

Hopefully there is someone in the House of Keys who has some basic commercial accumen and will see through this marketing hype, a good read of their  website should put anyone off - it would be interesting to see a plain English version of what they are actually going to do rather than a load of aspirational marketing babble - its a long way from a coffee shop in Soho to the rock!.

As far as I can see each part of the event runs its self any way so the only thing they will be doing is putting an extra tier on the corporate entertainment ladder and the extortionate prices that go with it.

Physically getting more visitors to the island with the shipping and digs situation isn't going to happen, it's rammed there now. I have a fear of the TT killing off the fan that sits on the hedge row with a bag of sandwichs to favor the more corporate type fan that likes wifi and a seat in a stand with hospitality, the fan that would prefer the appearance of a pimms tent rather than the bushys one. I know the event needs to move on to keep going but the attention of the more discerning punter with deep pockets is what it seems the TT will be about in the coming years I feel, and the ded think these new guys are the ones to attract this type of person.

Quality.....this is yet another disaster in the making, brought on by this clueless bunch of idiots who run this island.
We have all of the expertise to do most things here on the island, yet this government can never see this, they are too quick to sell out to posh off island fancy pants "specialists" who do all of their deals in poncy coffee shops.

Time to wake up IoM Government and smell the coffee.

I like the next to last one, Cloud nine, i think somebody in goverment is on cloud nine its all a dream?

Have you seen how many other companies the two directors of Vision Nine Motorsports are also directors and how many have beed dissolved.
They seem to set up companies at will and the one for the TT only registered in February when presumably they new the were likely to get the contract. So much for experience.

Well that's very nice of you Julian, however I will let the TT you promote have my volunteer service for your first year only 2017, then I will decide if I want to continue to work with you, as I'm personally not holding my breadth for V9 bringing a significant contribution to the event. 

This made me laugh about them !
