Been asked by a continental visitor if Euro is accepted in any shop, pubs etc. They have a supply of sterling but wondered if in an emergency euro is accepted? Thanks.

A few places used to take Euros, but not seen anything recently. You always got a rubbish rate anyway.

I'm sure they could trade it in at a bank.

Yes, banks and post offices will exchange, but not pubs or shops
