Michael Dunlop won the Supertwins race at the Cookstown 100 in 2015 on the McAdoo Racing Kawasaki.
the Co Tyrone team's home event.

Ballymoney’s Michael Dunlop will ride a Kawasaki Supertwin once more for the Cookstown-based McAdoo Racing team in 2017.

Dunlop, who revealed recently that he had joined the Bennetts Suzuki squad to race the all-new GSX-R1000 in the Superbike and Supersport races at the international road races this season, claimed a win on Winston and Jason McAdoo’s Kawasaki ER-6 at their home race meeting at the Cookstown 100 in 2015.

The 27-year-old’s Gorteagh Printing-backed machine will be developed by MSS Kawasaki, who are working on the ZX-10R and ZX-6R Superbike and Supersport machines that new signing James Cowton will race in the McAdoo colours this season.

A statement issued by the team said:

“We are thrilled to have Michael race in McAdoo colours again – a man we believe is the number one road racer in the world – and to have Nick Morgan from MSS oversee the project is the perfect combination.

“Michael’s record of success is sensational and the outright lap record at the TT in 2016 was a mark of his outstanding ability. To have him on board alongside the exciting potential of James Cowton is mouthwatering for the team.

“McAdoo Kawasaki have a long association with ick Morgan and MSS Performance – working on our bikes for Ryan Farquhar and Conor Cummins – and are excited to work with them again in 2017. Nick has a proven track record of building very fast Kawasakis.”

The Northern Ireland team has run a raft of top road racers over the years, including Ryan Farquhar, Manx rider Conor Cummins, Bob Jackson, Ian Hutchinson, Alan Irwin and Brian Reid.
