Quiz time !
This is one I posted on my face book page today,
Just for a bit of fun, and hopefully it will keep your brains ticking as well,
Up to 4/5 names at the moment,
I reckon there could be at least 20/30 people that fit the bill,
So get your thinking caps on, and throw some names up !
Boring sort of day here,
So keeping the brain ticking over,
Think this is going to be one for Barry Wood/ Roy Moore etc to get there thinking caps on,,
How many people have raced at the TT, on both 2 wheels and 3, That's the easy bit,,,
But how many people have done all 3 parts of the racing, Riding a solo, Driving a chair, and also being the passenger,,, ( Not all at the same time ! )
Would be interesting to find out as iam racking whats left of my brain to think of names for all 3 ?
Over to the Experts time !

RE: Quiz time !
Thank you Alfie! Can't think of who's done the three, i.e solo, sidecar driver,AND passenger. However, just off the top of my head, those who have done solo and sidecar, include:
Freddie Dixon, Florian Camathias, Eric Oliver, Mick Boddice, Graham Walker, Chris Walker, Chris Vincent, Nigel Rollason, Colin Appleyard, Maria Costello, Michael Dunlop.....I am sure there are a load more out there, if you are just talking about racing generally, and not the TT.
I can think of one famous rider who also passengered, and that was Jimmy Simpson in the 1920s.
I will have to have a think about this one.

Yup getting lighter, still damm cold though !
Richard Crossley I reckon. Passenger to the late great Dave Saville, drove sidecars and think rode a solo in the late 80's

RE: Quiz time !
Just a quick update on this one,
At the moment we only have Richard Crossley,
Richard Hawes, known by his shortened name,,, which iam not going to try and type in again !!!!
And some silly sod by the name of Benjies Dad,
I really thought there would have been a list a mile long coming out,
But it appears not,
People have done the Manx on 2 wheels, and the TT on 3, but have never done the TT in all of the roles,
Still looking for more names though folks !!
Cant have a club of only 3 people to have been silly enough to do this !
Thinking caps back on again,,,
More so Mr Splashdown, the only man to win a Manx 2 day trial and MGP in the same week !
Arghh the good old days of multi tasking ! Lol

RE: Quiz time !
I'll have to come clean here Benjiesdad.
I won the Manx 2 day in 1976, and the Senior MGP in 1983. (plus TT in '93)
I DID ride the 2day AND the MGP in the same week, in 1976, 80, and 81, best result was 4th in the 2Day, and 3rd and 4th in the 2 races, ie Junior and Senior, in 1980.
Back to the quiz question, it certainly won't be a long list of riders doing all three disciplines, and I'm already surprised that there are three, namely, Richard Crossley, Mr Hawes and yourself.
I thought I'd done well listing Florian Camathias as a solo and sidecar competitor, did anyone else get him? He was crazy enough to have passengered aswell!
I'll keep researching.
