Jodie Kidd and Matt Roberts lead new presenter line up for Isle of Man TT Races Broadcast

Jodie Kidd and Matt Roberts will lead the new presenting line up for the Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy TV broadcasts this year.

The TT is broadcast worldwide with 15 one hour preview, highlights and review shows screened on ITV4 in the UK and eleven available through international broadcasters including Discovery Channel in the USA and Fox Sports in Australia.

The pair will be supported by former leading TT competitors Cameron Donald and Steve Plater with Cameron providing race commentary alongside experienced motorsport commentator Dave Moore.

Previously Jodie Kidd has fronted Channel 5’s The Classic Car Show alongside Quentin Willson as well as hosting CNN Equestrian for CNN International and participated in Tour de Celeb which saw her tackle epic cycling event L’Etape du Tour in France. A petrol head at heart, Jodie has extensive racing experience in four wheel motorsport and raced some of Europe’s most prestigious circuits in the Maserati Trofeo Series.

Jodie Kidd said:

“I’m so excited to be presenting this year’s Isle of Man TT Races broadcast for ITV4. I’ve followed the remarkable TT Races for a number of years and the event is undoubtedly one of the iconic events in world motorsport. It’s going to be an incredible experience to see it first hand and it’s a real honour to be asked to present the programmes.”

Matt Roberts, who currently fronts Eurosport’s coverage of the World Superbike and British Superbike Championships, was also part of the Eurosport team covering this year’s Winter Olympics in South Korea. His motorcycle presenting experience also includes being the BBC’s anchor for their MotoGP coverage.

Matt Roberts said:

“There is a huge amount of respect for the TT riders in every race paddock I’ve ever been to. Anyone who understands and appreciates motorsport knows the skill, dedication, application and focus that is required to race around the Mountain Course and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to tell the story of this incredible event.”

Cameron Donald and Steve Plater need no introduction for TT fans with the pair having both stood on the top step of the podium on the Isle of Man – Donald memorably winning two races in 2008 while Steve Plater’s career included victory in the 2008 Supersport and 2009 Senior TT Races.

Hopefully that will come across well balanced, if the new faces lose that personal hands on touch from the commentating they could be in brightly lit trouble.

What exactly was it on Jodie Kidd's CV that got her a job presenting a specialist motorcycle event?

Nothing personally against Jodie Kidd, but for me Susie Perry would have been better qualified for the job !

3fm have just been reporting the story on the local news, Steve Plater has become "Steve Platter" made me chuckle ☺

Jodie Kidd's remark "I’ve followed the remarkable TT Races for a number of years"  ...Reminds me of Jackie Stewart's comment when he was paid to appear at the TT a few years ago ...Despite having been retired for over 40 years and despite saying that he'd "always followed the TT " he had never been there until he was paid and as far as I'm aware has never been since !. I understand that 'a bit of glamour' increases a predominately male TV audience and I certainly wouldn't want to denigrate someone before seeing them but the TT deserves a special understanding. Hopefully Jodie will prove me wrong but I fear another Mel Sykes

Jodie is a proper petrolhead, has lots of cars and rides bikes, she was also one of the fastest stars on Top Gear in fact I think for some time she was the fastest. I think she'll be alright, Matt Roberts is good as well.

Let's hope they don't change the 'W' for an 'S' for Jamie Whitham !

Feel sorry for Whit as I'd have thought he'd be one of the first names up for retention.

Jodie Kidd is probably in the same boat as Craig Doyle when he started and I thought he was OK. At the end of the day it requires a professional presenter which isn't necessarily the same as an 'anylyst' who should be an ex-rider.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the output.

God. Has anyone seen Jodie Kid live. You are in for a treat. "Fantastic", "Fantastic", "Fantastic", "Fantastic", "Fantastic", "Fantastic" - guess what her favourite word is. Or is it the only one she can ever think of.

I've coped with Parrish banging on about the helicopter for the last decade, I'm sure I'll survive. Icon_biggrin

Jodie Kidd? Why?? Not sad to lose Parrish though. Like Hammerhead I think Whitham is a real loss, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and credible, he'll definitely be missed!

RE: Jodie Kidd and Matt Roberts lead new presenter line up for Isle of Man TT Races
Just watched the Superbike highlights and I think they did quite a good job with it.

Matt Roberts is a very experienced bike racing presenter who has been with MotoGP, World and British Superbikes for a long time and I'm sure he presented the TT for a bit before Craig Doyle.

I've always liked Dave Moore's commentary, Steve Plater and Cameron Donald are good as well. While I have nothing against Jodie Kidd and I know she is passionate about motorsport I think they have one too many in the TV team and she for me is the weaker link, simply because of her lack of experience in the role.

I liked a couple of the new camera angles, it's about time they showed how much of a drop Bray Hill actually is.

Good start in my opinion.

I am sure Jodie is a real nice lass but she just doesn't show the passion and the obvious enjoyment the others show for the TT. The behind the scenes insights were very interesting to me, as someone who doesn't know every last detail about the TT. I would also like to thank the presenters for the sensitive way they reported the sadder details of practice week.

Certainly the worst TV coverage since it started in my opinion. Jodie Kidd was wooden. I hope Green Light will review their current presenter line up.

I was disappointed with the feature of the sidecar lap. I thought 20 minutes of every instruction for every corner would have given fans a unique perspective of what the pilots and passengers of the chairs go through.

Quite agree with you, of the commentators Matt Robert's & Steve Plater were ok but Jodie Kidd didn't really look or sound that enthusiastic & as nice a person Cam is sorry but he should stick to riding. Also for me there were to many split second flashes of riders & graphics etc. Surely it would be better concentrating on one particular rider through a few sections, not hard to do with todays technology. And did we really have to have repeat upon repeat of previous races every night !!
