RE: Senior race L3 waved yellow flags
I was at Rhencullen for the Senior, right at the point where PH overtook the back markers and I can categorically state with absolute certainty that he was slower through Rhencullen than on all previous laps and his overtake, from opposite the garage to before the rise, was neat and clean. None of the back markers had to move off their line and PH was much less 'on the edge' than on his previous laps. After almost 40 years of sitting on the bank at the TT, it was one of those moments that will stick with me forever.

It still comes back to the fact that some riders are not respecting the yellow flags, the safety of others and gaining an unfair advantage. They need to be severely penalised far worse than pit lane speeding but probably nothing is going to be done about until there is utter carnage.

RE: Senior race L3 waved yellow flags
Looking at those videos the marshals seemed to be confused, there were no waved yellows until after Hickman went through just lack of adhesion flag, then it's a waved yellow as Brookes goes through(too fast IMO), then stationary yellow as Jessop goes through, then back to LOA when Johnston goes through, then back to waved yellows.

RE: Senior race L3 waved yellow flags
The marshals do a great job but I would have possibly thought (although I don't know if individual flags have different and exact criteria for deployment) a sump full of oil all over the very narrow line through/after the bottom of Barregarrow would have been waved yellows and LOA oil flag variant from the start of the incident until the oil was treated particularly through that section where even a bike that the rider is doing his best to slow down will still have to go somewhere, if you wanted or needed the bike to slow down then even waved yellows at the flag/marshal post in the video gives the rider little chance to slow considerably given the bumpy 170+mph approach and maintain bike control in that IMHO too short distance from the bottom assuming that it wasn't flagged even further back up the hill towards the top. The riders not slowing down enough for waved yellows is something that needs addressing, i'm not sure where the attitude by some of not giving the flags enough consideration has come from but it defo needs somebody at the top of management sitting down with the riders and educating / disciplining them properly.

This has been a problem for some years and leads to the overuse of red flags.  In the (good) old days red flags at the TT and UGP were virtually unknown.  Yes, bikes were slower then but tyres and brakes were also poor by modern standards.
Waved yellows should mean slow right down until you have clearly passed the incident.  The riders know there's no sanction which is probably why they do it?

RE: Senior race L3 waved yellow flags
@Roger9650 you may have a point there, back when the days were different red flags were a very rare thing if at all but at the same time we knew that waved yellows were very very serious and acted upon, the 1992 MGP Junior race was real and sad carnage, John Judge RIP hit the wall at Rhencullen, the bike's engine was sat by itself on the crest as I came through along with a load of bomb-like debris and it was waved yellows right back towards Douglas Corner for IIRC 2 laps while they sorted it out, Craig Mason RIP got tangled up with "Cudders" Cudworth on the narrow run through to Alpine, both bikes pinballing down the hedges and roadside while destroying themselves again waved yellows from Bishopscourt, a crash at Glentramman set the bushes on fire and a mate threw it down the road at the 33rd when his bike seized, it was a little subdued in places in the paddock when we finished but nothing seemed to stop the racing in those days - don't think it was the best way of doing things but as a rider we had no choice in the matter, maybe some riders think these days that only a red flag means it's serious ?, if that's the case then they need educating.

equip some of the marshals with body cams .so can film offenders and action taken against them . could also be used as evidence against some of the idiot spectators that was there this year
