Right, change of year for the next few. You'll be doing very well if you can get the rider but can anyone tell me what the bike is? Clue: It's in late 60s factory colours.
It is Ballabeg - Pre TT practice. There's probably no chance of getting the rider, who is Wolfgang Pohl. The make of bike is obscure (although I think they may still be going in sone shape or form) and is Italian.
Alfie is promoted to Detective Sergeant! A 250 Moto Villa it is. White & orange was the factory colour scheme in the late 60s. When checking I discovered that they made a 250cc V4 with 8 speed gearbox that got scuppered by the FIM's ruke change limiting the class to 2 cylinders & 6 gears.
A Moto Villa, of course. I recall the machine but I couldn't recall the colour scheme. I do remember Chas Mortimer riding a 125cc Villa single with some success though.
Jeff is right with Robin and Annette. I remember seeing them race at Mallory one time (getting on for a 1000 mile round trip) and they were back again the next weekend. Keen as...
Right, no kudos for guessing where but who's this?
Ray Porter. On one of John Donnan's bikes I'm thinking.
Unfortunately just seems to remind me of what seems like a whole generation of the top Irish road racers who are no longer with us. Thankfully Ray still is.
