Work ongoing to attract marshals to TT 2022

Association confident with numbers but world has changed

The Isle of Man TT Marshals Association says it's working on several fronts to attract marshals to come to road racing events on the Island next year.

Approximately 550 are needed for every practice and race session on the TT Course.

Eighty percent of those who sign-on travel to Manx shores.

Association Director Stevie Christian says he's confident they will attract enough people, but Covid-19 means the world is a different place from two years ago:

The scary thing is, and no offence to all involved, what is the average age of marshals these days. It is becoming obvious and a concern at many race meetings there are very few younger marshals joining the ranks. For years there was always a good mix of new, experienced and older personnel but not now it seems.

I think that's a tad harsh. Looking at the picture above, there is some silver, but a lot of more junior baldies, but all in all doesn't look a bad mix.
