Does anyone know if the radio commentary will still be mainly on AM and will the radio ear pods still be for sale. My old AM radio has ceased to function.
According to all sources - Radio TT will remain a free service on 1368am and Manx Radio digital and requires no subscription
The new set up means commentary will, of course, be covered by the team in the control tower, watching live screens (presumably the same screens as you'll see if you subscribe) with Kinners in pit lane again!

Hi captain, Please what is your source for "Radio TT will remain a free service on 1368am and Manx Radio digital and requires no subscription"?
I've sent a mail to Manx Radio. No reply yet...

Thanks for the updated confirmation, Nasher, I was getting a bit worried!
I've been listening on me little Medium Wave radio since 1976, don't like the thought of not being able to do it any more.
I suppose it will be digitised sooner or later, but as long as I can still pick it up here in Heysham, I'll be happy!
Mail correspondens with Manx Radio yesterday:
Hello, I'm coming again to The TT from Sweden. I understand that there has been some changes after the pandemic. My question is if the "TT radio" will be on as earlier? Usually I bring my little radio to hear transmissions live from the races. I've always used AM1368. Will it still work, please?
Good afternoon
Thank you for your email..Yes the TT broadcasting channels will be the same/very similar to previous years with AM1368 most certainly still going strong.
Enjoy your time at the TT this year!

No paid subscription needed for the radio or live timing. It sounds like the main difference we'll notice is less adverts/music interrupting the commentary. And it'll still be live, there is only a delay on the new video streaming for obvious reasons.

I personally don't like earpods, but my FM/AM radio from Lidl has an earphone socket & earphone - bought it a few years ago for less than a tenner of my pension
Plenty available from Argos/ebay/currys/amazon/etc

I'll be taking my trusty Roberts radio that I bought about years ago. You could get one for around £20 plus a few quid for the 4 D batteries needed. Loud enough to hear clearly above any radios nearby, and will last you until the whole shebang inevitably goes digital. I'm really glad that the radio commentary is continuing, as I'm a bit of a technophobe and wasn't going to buy a smartphone just to get the TT-live app! (I know, I'm a miserable git!)
I think TT-Live is aimed at people who do not attend the event as it will involve access to an internet connection, probably not much use watching at the bottom of barregarrow.
Been a long time since we've watched from there!
I think we (or people who plan on downloading the app!) need to know what sort of signal strength is available round the course, & keep an eye on the bandwidth!
Slightly off subject but Barregarrow great for watching sidecars, passengers backside inches from the wall. Friend was at Darley Moor at the weekend where Dave Molyneux had his KTM 890 outfit running. He said it was going well but earplugs may be required.
