Riders return to paddock the "wrong" way following accident
Interesting that CofC had little choice but to send the racers back against the racing direction following the accident at Kate's.

Steve Mercer's terrible injuries happened in similar circumstances in 2018 and riding against the flow was banned?

Apparently the riders now carrying transponders mean  that travelling in the wrong direction is much safer.

RE: Riders return to paddock the "wrong" way following accident
Someone has posted on 'social media' with screenshots, saying that the regs were altered on 20th August to allow travelling the wrong way along the course under exceptional circumstances , in fact, taken from the regs -
Section 8 – Update to para 8.89. Added line to state that Wrong Direction may be used in extreme circumstances at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course Section 8 20th August 2024
