It was a bittersweet Macau GP for MSS Colchester Kawasaki as Simon Andrews just missed out on a podium but 2011 signing Stuart Easton took an incredible third win.

Andrews ran an impressive third position all race in only his second attempt but he ran out of power late on to be pipped by a few tenths, for that all important podium position.

However, it was Nick Morgan’s 2011 British Superbike pick Stuart Easton who stunned the massed crowds with a third consecutive win whilst decimating the lap record by 1.5 seconds on his way through. Also heartening, was his performance given he was on the closely aligned PBM World Superbike Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R machine.

Northern Irish road race specialist Stephen Thompson had a Macau to forget after he suffered a technical after strong showings in practice.

The MSS Colchester Kawasaki squad now head home to appear at the Carole Nash Motorcycle Live event and then start their 2011 testing programme. With Stuart Easton confirmed as Superbike rider and Danny Buchan graduating to Superstock 1000, there are plenty of interested riders clamouring for the second Superbike berth on the awesome new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 2011 machine.

Simon Andrews said,

“Oh man that was annoying, so close! I felt comfortable in third but just at the end I started losing power. What a great event though, loved everything abut it.”

Team owner Nick Morgan said,

“I’m frustrated for Simon, it would have been great to see him on the podium especially only in his second visit. He was riding his heart out but you could see he had a problem. You’ve got to take your hat off to Stuart though, that was like BSB pace and I can’t wait to get him on our new bike, his confidence is sky high.”
